How prepared are you for your next Disneyland trip?

Disneyland Park isn’t the biggest Disney theme park, especially when you compare it to the parks at Disney World. As a park that uses every inch to maximize space, hidden spaces can sometimes be tricky to come by. Still, they exist and if you look at a map or talk to a Disneyland expert, you’ll find that several shortcuts are underutilized.
Disney Cast Members may use utilidors to get around, but there are some actually shortcuts YOU can take at Disneyland as well. While these “secret” shortcuts aren’t exactly true secrets, not enough guests take advantage of them so it wouldn’t hurt to get familiar with them before your next vacation!

First and foremost, one of the biggest shortcuts at Disneyland can be found on Main Street, U.S.A. Sometimes during parades, shows, and emergencies, walkways that are frequented by Cast Members along the edges of Main Street, U.S.A. are opened to the public in an effort to direct traffic.

Featured on both sides of the street, these corridors are mostly used to direct parade traffic and are fantastic alternatives to navigating through the stand-still traffic along the parade routes.

Another Disneyland shortcut isn’t a path, but a mode of transportation. While not as useful as Disney World’s monorail, the Disneyland Monorail can serve as a great shortcut.

The monorail connects Downtown Disney to Tomorrowland deep in Disneyland Park, making it a great way to bypass Main Street, U.S.A. and Tomorrowland crowds.

The monorail doesn’t usually have long waits but finding it can be a pain if you don’t know where to look. The Downtown Disney station is located near the Disneyland Hotel, a bit of a walk from where the Esplanade is and where Disneyland trams drop passengers off. Additionally, the Tomorrowland entrance is tucked away behind Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and Autopia.

While it isn’t the most ideal method of transportation depending on where you want to go, the Disneyland Monorail is perfect if you’re staying at the Disneyland Hotel or don’t mind skipping Main Street when entering or leaving the park.

The next secret shortcut can be found between Sleeping Beauty Castle and Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante.

This side route goes to and from the Sleeping Beauty Walkthrough entrance and Bibiddi Bobbidi Boutique past Fantasy Faire into Frontierland.

Connecting Frontierland to Fantasyland, this path is the quickest route between the two. It can bottleneck on occasion, especially when Rancho del Zocalo is busy, but is generally the way to go when traversing between the two lands.

Similarly, there is yet another side route near Sleeping Beauty Castle, this time on the Tomorrowland side.

While this pathway is a bit more obvious, it’s still a good way to traverse directly from Fantasyland to Astro Orbitor in Tomorrowland.

Still susceptible to bottlenecking, this path ultimately skips crowds in Tomorrowland and along Main Street, U.S.A. to get you behind the castle or into Tomorrowland without a ton of fuss. It also takes you by Snow White’s Wishing Well, which is an absolute charm to see (and listen to) each time you pass by.

Finally, the last secret shortcut on our list can be found along the newly branded Bayou Country into Galaxy’s Edge.

Another not-so-secret pathway, this route is undoubtedly one of the most useful shortcuts on our list. The only pathway between Bayou Country and Galaxy’s Edge, this path takes you past Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree into Galaxy’s Edge all the way to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

The best part is that this path takes you along the gorgeous Rivers of America, all while bypassing Frontierland and Fantasyland foot traffic!
