Surprise, surprise! Things are changing again in the Disney parks.

After the recent D23 event in Anaheim, there’s a LOT to look forward to. However, while we wait for things like the new Avatar land and the new Coco ride, Disney is making plenty of smaller changes. One of those is the revamp of a popular restaurant…and now we have an update!
Let’s start at the beginning. On July 8th, several Disneyland attractions and restaurants closed for construction on Critter Country (which is being turned into Bayou Country). Then on July 20th, Disneyland announced that Hungry Bear Restaurant would be transformed into Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree!

Yes, the restaurant will now be themed to the iconic Country Bears who recently debuted a new show in Disney World. While the attraction no longer exists at Disneyland, you’ll be able to enjoy the bears’ favorite regional barbecue dishes while listening to their soundtrack of greatest hits.
During a visit to Disneyland on August 19th, we spotted the new sign for the restaurant!

The lettering is done with vibrant red, orange, and yellow colors. Watch out — there’s a beehive up there!

Here is what the sign used to look like. You can tell the new sign is heavily inspired by the original!

We were able to see this new addition because, on August 19th, Disneyland reopened several areas! You can now use the Hungry Bear bathrooms while the restaurant remains closed, the walkway to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes are open once again.
Some attractions remain closed — see full list here
Also, Disney recently shared a look at the menu. While a few basic items like chicken tenders are returning, most of the menu is brand new! We can’t wait to try it all — we’re drooling already!

An opening date has NOT been announced just yet, but this is a good sign (literally) that we’re getting closer and closer. Stay tuned to AllEars and you’ll be the first to know as soon as it’s announced!
