WARNING: Think Twice Before Booking This Disney World Hotel for Your 2025 Trip

For example, we’re constantly checking on the latest closures that could impact your trip. Test Track recently closed for a pretty lengthy refurbishment and retheme, Peter Pan’s Flight announced a temporary closure, and some hotels are renovating their food courts. Now, as you think more and more about planning a 2025 Disney World trip, we want to warn you about a closure that could affect where you stay.

It’s no secret that one of the best Disney World pools is over at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Stormalong Bay has a sand-bottomed pool, a shipwreck, a 230-foot water slide, and a lazy river. Yep, that’s all in this one pool area!

It’s definitely a highlight for booking a stay at either the Yacht Club or the Beach Club since they share the pool. Although these are beloved hotels within walking distance of EPCOT and the Skyliner, you may want to avoid them for the first half of 2025.

That’s because Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool have a scheduled closure for maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025. Don’t worry, there shouldn’t be any major changes — Disney notes the reason for the closure is “routine maintenance.”

The downsides here are obviously not being able to experience the amazing pool area, but there will also be construction noise. Disney warns that “guests may see or hear construction work during the daytime hours.”

Not all is lost though, because the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools will still be open. It’s not quite the same, but hey, at least there are other options!

If the pool is a big draw for you, it may make sense to change the dates of your trip or book another hotel with an amazing pool. In that case, we’d recommend Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with its volcano slide!
