If you’re visiting Disney World in 2025, you need to know about this cancelation policy UPDATE that might apply to you!

Disney World has various cancelation policies that apply to hotel, dining, and ticket reservations. Depending on when you cancel any of those reservations, you may be charged a cancelation fee. Now, that timeline has CHANGED for Disney World hotel bookings.
In a recent announcement about 2025 vacation bookings, Disney briefly mentioned one VERY important policy update: “Please note one change to our cancellation policy: For 2025 arrivals, room only reservations can be canceled without penalty until 8 days prior to arrival.”
Previously, hotel reservations could be canceled up to 5 days in advance and guests would receive a full refund.

Now, if you cancel between 0 and 7 days, you lose the cost of a one-night stay, which is the deposit.
To cancel your room-only reservation, you can contact Guest Services at (407) 939-5277. Alternatively, you can cancel that reservation online: Sign into your Disney account, go to “My Reservations,” and locate the one you want to cancel. If that reservation can be canceled online, you should see a link for “Cancel Reservation.” If you don’t see that option, you should call the Guest Services number listed above instead.

Note that the cancellation policy for vacation packages has not changed. Here is that policy:
- If you cancel your vacation package up to 30 days in advance, you can receive a full refund.
- If you cancel between 2 and 29 days in advance, you can cancel but will have to pay a $200 fee.
- If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, you must pay the entire cost of the package.
- Making any changes to your vacation package within 30 days of your arrival might result in a $50 change fee.
