How’s your week been so far?

It’s been a busy one for us, although most of what we’ve covered seems to be all about Halloween — even though Halloween is 6 months away (?). But Disney had its Halfway To Halloween event this week, and with that came a ton of new announcements! That’s not all, though. We also learned about a new hotel re-theme coming to Disneyland, and we got an update on some exciting technology coming to the parks as well! So let’s get to this week’s biggest Disney news.
New MagicBand+ Design Revealed
We’ll be seeing a new kind of MagicBand at both Disney World and Disneyland sometime this year. It’s MagicBand+, and it will have the same features as a standard MagicBand plus some new interactive features. Although we’ve seen a sneak peek of the new MagicBands already, we got to see a NEW design this week.

The NEW design is a Star Wars one, and it can be used to interact with elements all over Disney World, including in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. We also recently saw a construction wall in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge featuring this new symbol — we wonder if this has something to do with the interactive activities for MagicBand+ in Batuu?

Halloween at Disney World
Yes, Halloween is still 6 months away, but Disney wants everyone to get hyped about it. We’ve seen a sneak peek at this year’s Halloween merchandise, learned about new spooky Magic Shots NOW available at Disney World, and learned all about Halloween snacks coming to the parks. But most importantly, Disney announced that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party WILL return to Disney World this year for the first time since 2019.

The event will return after a two-year hiatus and will bring back the Sanderson Sisters in the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, light up the sky with Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show, entertain guests with the Boo-To-You parade, and more! Tickets will range from $109 to $199 per person, depending on the date.

Oogie Boogie Bash Returning
Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash returned to Disneyland last year, and it will also be happening this year. Guests can expect much of the same entertainment and fun from previous years.

Disney has not yet announced dates or ticket prices for the after-hours event, but we’ll let you know when we have more details. In the meantime, you can get a sneak peek at Mickey and Minnie’s new Halloween outfits at Disneyland.

Hotel at Disneyland To Get Retheme
The Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland Resort is getting a new theme! The hotel will get a refurbishment that will reimagine it with a Pixar theme. According to Disney, “The reimagining of the hotel will weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting. Guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters through carefully curated artwork, and décor that reveals the creative journey of the artists who helped bring these stories to life.”

Disney hopes to share more details about the project soon, so we’ll let you know more later!

Halloween at Other Disney Parks
The Halloween news just kept on coming this week. Disney also confirmed that Halloween events will be returning to both Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris this year for the first time since 2019. In Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, the “Disney Halloween” event will take place from September 15th through October 31st, 2022.

In Disneyland Paris, the Disney Halloween Party will take place on October 29th and 31st, 2022. Tickets for these events should be going on sale soon.
