A new type of MagicBand is coming to Disney World and Disneyland this year!
Disney first announced the new evolution of the MagicBand, MagicBand+, last year. These bands will have all the features of a MagicBand but with the addition of some new interactive elements. We’ve gotten a glimpse at what these new bands will look like and a new design was just revealed!
We’ve seen a few prototypes of the band with very cool designs and now Disney has debuted a Star Wars design!
The band appears to have a grungy space vibe to it. That’s very fitting for Star Wars! We’re pumped that Star Wars fans will have a fitting MagicBand+ option.
MagicBand+ will interact all around Disney World including as a bounty hunter’s tool in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, interacting with the golden Disney Fab 50 character statues, and even lighting up with the fireworks!
And today we spotted a construction wall in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with that symbol from the design reveal on it! Virtual bounties will be collected around the land with the new bands so this is potentially work pertaining to MagicBand+!
MagicBand+ will go on sale beginning in 2022, which will include a discounted pre-arrival price for Disney Resort guests and new and renewing Annual Passholders. Keep an eye on AllEars for more updates!
