Hello, AllEars readers! It’s been another fun week covering Disney news.

And in case you missed anything big, we’ve got you covered. So keep reading to find out about the biggest Disney stories you might have missed this week.
Galactic Starcruiser
We got a ton of new details about the Star Wars Hotel, aka Galactic Starcruiser, this week. We learned what it will be like entering the hotel (and it sounds awesome). And we learned that people feeling claustrophobic during their two-night journey in space can actually sneak in a little themed outdoor time if they need it. PLUS we got a first look at some very cool galactic merchandise.

Some fans might be disappointed to know that the lightsabers used by performers (those cool ones that look real) and the training lightsabers used during the lightsaber training experience will NOT be for sale to guests. We also learned a little more about the rooms — And for those worried about the bunk beds in the cabins — we learned they will easily accommodate adults and aren’t as small as they look in photos.

We also got another sneak peek at the food guests will get to eat while onboard. It’s all so exciting from what we’ve seen so far.

Life Day Celebrations
Old school Star Wars fans might be surprised to know that something from the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special has stuck around and became official this year. We previously Life Day Celebrations at Disneyland, complete with special snacks.

And there was even new Life Day merchandise available, both in the parks and online. So for those who’d like to forget the holiday special, it’s going to be impossible now.

Disneyland’s Toontown Will Be Reimagined
Disneyland will be closing Mickey’s Toontown in March 2022 to completely reimagine the land with new attractions, activities, and entertainment. The new land is set to open its doors in early 2023 and will have a larger space for “spontaneous family play and parental relaxation.”

Part of this area is already under construction to make way for Disneyland’s version of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. There will also be a park with a fountain for kids to play in and a play set inspired by Walt Disney’s youth in his hometown.

Disney Cruise Line Updates Vaccine Requirements For Kids
Now that the CDC has authorized the COVID-19 vaccine for children five and up, Disney Cruise Line has updated its vaccination requirements for guests. Previously, Disney Cruise Line required all guests ages 12 and older to show proof of vaccination before boarding a ship. Guests ages 11 and younger were required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken between 24 hours and 3 days before boarding.

As of January 13th, 2022, all guests ages 5 and older must show proof of vaccination before boarding a Disney cruise ship. Also starting on that date, guests ages 4 and younger must provide proof of a negative test.

Destination D23
Destination D23 is officially underway at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Disney World. And we’re there, covering everything live. You can follow along with many of the events there via D23’s official livestream.

Also, we learned that Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek won’t be able to make the event — he commented he had planned to go, but that his work schedule just wouldn’t allow him to make time for it.
