If you’re hoping to eat at a Table Service restaurant during your Walt Disney World trip, the best way to get a reservation is to book early.

Reservations open up 60 days in advance, and some of them can be gone in minutes! But, what if you didn’t have time to plan that far in advance or you decided that a sit-down dinner sounds nice when you’re there? You CAN still get a reservation using a few tips and tricks!
How To Get Day of Dining Reservations
First, you’re going to need the My Disney Experience app installed on your phone. You’ll likely be on the go in the parks so this will be the most convenient place to look for a reservation! Be sure that you’re signed in to your Disney account and then click that little plus button at the bottom and select “Check Dining Availability.”

Then, you’ll be prompted to enter your Party Size and select the date you’re hoping to book. You’re living on the edge and looking for a same-day reservation, so you’ll have that day picked. Here’s where things get serious. There are quite a few options to toggle between on the screen — start by clicking the general time that you’d like to each (breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner).

If no availability shows up, there’s still a chance for you to score a nice meal — you just need to be more specific! Try selecting an actual time listed, like 3PM or 6:30PM. You will probably see some restaurants start popping up!

Keep switching through all of the different time options until you find yourself the restaurant and time that works best for you! You’ll be surprised by how different some of the times are that show up when you select something more specific. Here we selected 7PM and a reservation for 4:25PM at Garden Grill Restaurant showed up.

So, you never know exactly what you’re going to get when you’re booking a dining reservation on the same day! But, rest assured there is probably something available if you don’t mind taking the extra time to search! This is also a great technique to use if you’re looking for a hard-to-get reservation and planning ahead! Stay tuned for more Disney tips and tricks!
