Commemorate Walt Disney’s Birthday With A Virtual Celebration Today!

We celebrated Mickey Mouse’s birthday just a few weeks ago, and now another exciting birthday is here!

Today, we’re celebrating Walt Disney’s birthday! In order to commemorate his birthday, a special, virtual celebration is being held!

Since 2013, a special project has been underway to restore the Chicago home that Walt Disney was born in to turn it into a museum! Excitingly, The Walt Disney Birthplace is holding a virtual birthday party today!

Each year, the Walt Disney Birthplace throws a birthday party to celebrate and this year it’s gone virtual! Guests of this virtual party will get a tour of the house and in the room that Walt Disney was born in, a candle will be lit to celebrate his birthday. 

You can learn about the Disney family’s history, and may even be greeted by some surprise guests! Past guests include Dick Van Dyke, and even Mickey Mouse himself!

Registration for the event costs $10 which you’ll be able to credit towards the purchase of a dedicated paver stone or a special event t-shirt! If you’re a Disney Imagineering fan, you can register for the VIP reception for $75 and hear from Disney Legend and Imagineer, Tony Baxter. This package will give you virtual entry to the reception and main event, as well as a collectible t-shirt!
