Nationwide, states and counties are continuing the process of reopening in the wake of the pandemic. Over in California, Orange County was able to advance to the next reopening phase, allowing more businesses to resume indoor operations.

ClickOrlando has reported that in South Florida, the counties of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach have all been given the green light to enter phase two of reopening.
These three counties were hit particularly hard by the pandemic earlier this year, and this move into phase two signals progress being made not only in South Florida, but statewide.

In phase two, restaurants and movie theaters can operate at up to 50% capacity. In addition, gyms and retail stores can operate at full indoor capacity, so long as proper precautions are in place. At this time, social gatherings can take place as long as attendance does not exceed 50 people.

Central Florida, where Disney World is located, has also progressed further along in recent months. Despite the improving conditions, the region is staying vigilant. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings noted in a recent news conference that he has “no immediate plans” to relax the county’s face mask mandate.

In addition to the progress being made regionally, the state of Florida announced this week that bars can reopen at 50% capacity starting on Monday, September 14th. However, bars in Miami-Dade County will remain closed for the time being.
