Vickie and I visited Disneyland, California to check out new happenings there. I always enjoy Walt’s original park, and California Adventure has added some compelling new sights. The food in Disneyland is reliably good to me. Here I am with Tigger at the Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. for “Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park.”

A friendly Cast Member confirmed to me the location of a cool Hidden Mickey inside the Emporium Store. Walk into the store entrance facing Main Street and at the end of the store closest to City Hall. Look behind the cashier’s counter to your right as you enter the store and find a still life painting with flowers on the wall. A distorted but recognizable image of Sorcerer Mickey is on a blue globe which sits on a small table. (Thanks to Jessica Strom for writing to me about this great image.)

Walking into Cars Land at California Adventure is like walking into a “Cars” movie set. You enter Cars Land on Route 66 lined with its flashy stores and diners. At night, the colorful neon lights blaze the way along Route 66, drawing you to the premier attraction of Cars Land: Radiator Springs Racers, which is a next generation “Test Track” ride through Ornament Valley and the mountains of the Western U.S. You’ll pass by Flo’s V8 Cafe, a counter service restaurant with food you might find on the real Route 66.

At the far end of Route 66 is a statue of Stanley in front of the Radiator Springs Fire Department.

If you stay alert, you’ll spot a few awesome Hidden Mickey images in Cars Land. For example, at Ramone’s House of Body Art (a merchandise shop), the outside display windows showcase car hoods which are painted with amazing detail, including subtle and difficult to find Hidden Mickeys.
