Disney Locks In 2028 & 2029 Movie Release Dates, Marvel Film Slashed From Schedule

Movie fans, we’ve got some interesting news for future Disney releases that you need to know about.

Disney often shares news about projects that are upcoming in future years, even if we’re still 2-3 years away from those films. Often, we don’t even have names or specific details about those new films, but Disney knows they want to release a film in a certain franchise, such as Marvel, Star Wars, or Pixar. Other times, Disney has the information, but it hasn’t been released to the public yet, other than the release date. Disney already had multiple films planned for 2028 and 2029, but now, many of those release dates have changed.

According to Deadline, the studio updated its calendar this past Friday, March 21st, and some 2028 and 2029 release dates have now changed. Starting out strong, an untitled Marvel film has now moved from February 18th, 2028, to July 28th, 2028.

What’s going on February 18th, then? Well, the untitled Disney movie that was going to be released on July 28th, 2028, has now moved to February 18th, 2028 — basically, these two films have just swapped places.

What’s very interesting is that the untitled Marvel film that was originally on the schedule for November 10th, 2028? It’s now completely gone. It’s possible it could arrive back on the schedule at some time in the future, but for now, it’s nowhere to be seen.

As for 2029, untitled Disney, Marvel, and Pixar films are currently on hold for:

Disney did also recently announce that two new sequel films are on the way, and we’ve got confirmed dates for both them. Lilo & Stitch 2 will release on May 26th, 2028 and Incredibles 3 will release on June 16th, 2028. Don’t forget that Toy Story 5 is coming SOON, releasing in theaters on June 19th, 2026!
