REVIEW: We Tried a $17 Slice of Cheesecake at Disney World, and We Have THOUGHTS

The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk is a pretty controversial spot, believe it or not. While it’s known for its delicious desserts, they’re pretty expensive, and many debate if it’s worth the high price point.

The Cake Bake Shop

While expensive desserts aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, we’ll be the first to admit that we see these high prices, cringe, and then we try the item in question and are COMPLETELY blown away. Recently, we headed over to try a $17 piece of cheesecake and an $8 Shirley Temple, curious if they’d impress us yet again, and sure enough, we’ve been dreaming about them both ever since we tried them!

We started off with the one and only $8 Pink Princess, which is Lemon-lime soda and grenadine. This doesn’t sound like it would be anything special, but in truth, this is the PERFECT hand-crafted Shirley Temple.

Pink Princess

The maraschino cherries on top have been dipped in glitter, which is already just such a fun addition, and this is truly just delicious. The grenadine flavor was pleasant and far from overwhelming, which we so appreciated. If you’re someone who loves Shirley Temples, this is absolutely something to try at least once!

It’s incredible!

The other new addition we snagged was the Lemon Curd Cheesecake for $17, which is Cake Bake’s lemon zest cheesecake, graham cracker crust, lemon curd, and freshly whipped cream.

Lemon Curd Cheesecake

This was a HIT! The cheesecake filling was so fluffy, and you could taste the air that had been whipped into it, which was absolutely phenomenal. It wasn’t heavy, but it will satisfy any cheesecake lover. The lemon curd was just enough to bring the natural sourness of the cream cheese alive. The only note we have is that the graham cracker crust gets slightly lost because of the flavors of the rest of the cheesecake, but all things considered, that was a very small complaint. We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone who loves cheesecake and lemon — you won’t be disappointed!

This was INCREDIBLE

  1. I can’t imagine that small of a slice of Cheesecake ever being worth that price point. I can get a slice 3-4 times that size from the cheesecake shop in our mall for half the price and that is homemade in several different flavors.
