We Regret to Inform You About This BIG Disney World Hotel Perk Change

Disney World hotel perks are one of the biggest reasons guests choose to stay on property.

From Early Theme Park Entry that lets you get a head start on popular rides to complimentary transportation across Disney World, these extras can add BIG value to your vacation. That’s why any change to a fan-favorite perk is worth paying attention to, and unfortunately, there’s a big one Disney fans need to know about for 2026.

If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel this summer, the good news is that Disney has confirmed that from May 26th through September 8th, 2026, Disney resort hotel guests will receive free water park access on their check-in day. Every guest listed on the hotel reservation will get a ticket to one of Disney’s water parks, either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach, at no extra cost.

This perk was also in effect last year in 2025 as well. This perk became popular because it is helpful if you’re arriving early in the day and don’t want to “waste” a full park ticket. Guests can drop their luggage off at their Disney hotel and head straight to the water park to start the fun right away. Just keep in mind that luggage is not permitted on Disney buses or inside the water parks, so you’ll need to store your bags before heading out. However, since last year, there has been a BIG change to this perk.

In 2026, this free water park perk is limited to those specific dates only. That means if you check into your hotel the day before May 26th, you will not receive the free water park tickets, even though the perk technically starts the next day. The same applies at the end of the offer window. Because of this, if this perk is important to you, it may be worth shifting your travel dates.
