There is a LOT of change going on around Disney World. The parks are expanding, the resorts are growing, and even Disney Springs is getting in on the fun.

Along with these changes, some policies are changing too! If you’re headed to Fort Wilderness Resort in 2026, you need to read this.

At Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, you can find fun campfires, tasty snacks, live entertainment, and an escape from the craziness of the parks! In 2026, if you’re planning on booking a campsite, we’re here to remind you that a new policy is kicking in.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

In the past, you could book a campsite that could be for up to 10 people per site. Now, starting on January 1st, 2026, you can only book for 8 people per site. They detailed the changes regarding fully-equipped campsites here!

Disney confirmed the landscaping, water, cable television, electrical hookups, picnic tables, and charcoal grill amenities will remain. They also note that most campgrounds include sewer hookups and some even permit pets! Don’t leave little Pluto behind!

This new policy change might throw a wrench into your plans if you have a larger group, so plan accordingly. This resort is in the Magic Kingdom resort area, so you’re only a boat ride away from Cinderella Castle.

This resort is also working on construction near the resort’s Meadown Swimmin’ Pool through mid-2026. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for anyone who needs to take a dip. The seating around the pool might be more limited, so be aware of that, too!

This spot is one of our favorites, thanks to things like the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing Along. It’s comforting, cozy, and a nice spot for larger groups. Be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney reminders, news, and updates.
