Disney just announced some breaking news, and we are STOKED!
If you’ve been keeping up with refurbishments happening at Disney World’s resort hotels, you’ve probably been aware that the Grand Floridian Resort has been completely reworking the lobby. Now, we have some huge news about the RETURN of a beloved lounge after a zillion years!

The Grand Floridian is one of Disney World’s most popular and elegant resort hotels. After a lengthy refurbishment period, the resort is almost ready to begin its new chapter. We’ve seen gradual updates to the lobby as enhancements were added over the past few months, and now the full lobby transformation is almost complete. Let us just say, saying we’re excited would be a massive understatement — especially after this news!
Disney announced that The Garden View Lounge will reopen with a refreshed look in early 2026. This new look will complement the new lobby’s grand new design.
That’s not all, the space will also offer a new tea experience with that magical Disney touch for guests of all ages — AHHH! We’re seriously so excited! You know where you’ll find us at the start of the New Year.
Disney hasn’t revealed an official opening date for this lounge, but hopefully, they will make an announcement on it soon! Speaking of dates, Disney also announced the official name and date for a new bar coming to the Grand Floridian — talk about a day of breaking news for the resort!
If you’ve seen our posts or have been to the resort yourself, you’ve most likely noticed the interesting-looking new bird cage bar. Well, it’s almost done! The bar is called The Perch, and you’ll be able to visit it on November 10th.
So much exciting stuff is coming to the popular resort, and we can’t wait — good thing we don’t have to wait too long for some of it! You’re going to have to pull us out of The Garden View lounge come 2026. For more Disney news and details, be sure to stay tuned to AllEars.

This is the best news ever!! Despite the wonderful Afternoon Tea offering by the Cake Bake Shoppe, the Garden View Lounge has a special place in my heart. So many good memories there with family and friends. I remember my waiter at Victoria and Albert’s told me back in 2024 that the Garden View Afternoon Tea room would be coming back. I never doubted his information. But it seemed like such a long stretch before having that news confirmed. Well, today is that red-letter day, and I could not be more stoked!
