If you worked in Disney World, there might be some rides you’re absolutely sick of at this point.

When you hear the same theme songs on repeat and listen to guests obsessing over the same long lines again and again, you might start to develop some vendettas. And honestly? We don’t blame you! Here are 3 rides we’ve had former Cast Members tell us they AVOID.
Before we dive in, we’ve got to mention the reviews section on the AllEars website! There, you can leave your personal reviews of rides, restaurants, hotels, attractions, and more. If you’ve got any thoughts on these selections, click on the review boxes to share your opinions!
“it’s a small world”
Starting our list out strong with a classic Disney attraction, we have “it’s a small world” in Magic Kingdom. This one has been around since the 1964 World’s Fair, later opening in Disneyland and then joining the lineup of opening day attractions in Disney World.

But the main complaint about the ride since it first opened decades ago is that its theme song is an absolute earworm! For 10 minutes, you ride through scenes from around the world, listening to the same tune on repeat, and after you get off the ride, it’s sure to be stuck in your head all day. For some people, this is a one-and-done.

We totally get that this may not have a lot of re-rideability, but if you’re a Disney history fan, it has a lot of significance. The iconic theme song, written by the Sherman brothers, has earned the title of the most played song in the world. The artwork and stunning design are the work of legendary Imagineer Mary Blair. And of course, the ride is perhaps Disney’s most well-known attraction.

Whether you love it or are burnt out on it, “it’s a small world” has definitely earned its place in the hall of fame.

Na’vi River Journey
The next ride on the list isn’t a classic, but rather, a relatively new addition to the Disney World lineup. Na’vi River Journey opened with Pandora — The World of Avatar in 2017, and fans have dubbed it “overrated” ever since.

The ride boasts what might be Disney World’s most impressive animatronic figure, but to see it, you’ll take a very slow boat ride through the flora and fauna of Pandora at night. There’s a little bit of scenery along the way, but the ride can get boring for some people — especially if you’re not a mega fan of the Avatar movies. Add to that the long wait time that the ride often has, and fans have been known to complain. (We imagine Cast Members don’t love hearing those complaints on repeat.)

Now, on the positive side, this ride can be a great use of a Lightning Lane selection (avoid that long wait!), and it’s a lovely spot to chill in the air conditioning and relax. Plus, the scenery really is beautiful. It has its merits, for sure!

Journey Into Imagination with Figment
Last but not least, you probably guessed that Journey Into Imagination with Figment would make this list! As one of Disney World’s most divisive rides, this EPCOT attraction has ended up on the “absolutely not” list for many former Cast Members.

It could be the slightly annoying protagonist (we’re looking at you, Figment!), the earworm theme song, or even the ridiculously accurate skunk smell that’s blasted in your face…but something about this ride doesn’t always sit well with Disney Adults. We might still be holding grudges about losing the original iteration with the Dreamfinder as well.

Like “it’s a small world,” though, this lands on the list of “you should do it at least once.” Figment has become EPCOT’s unofficial mascot over the years, and if you want to understand his lore, you’ve got to do his ride. Plus, kids often find it charming and funny!

Which of these rides would you get “sick” of the fastest? Tell us in the comments!

Absolutely agree with Navi River Journey and Small World. We love Figment’s ride! I would substitute the Tomorrowland Speedway.
