NEW Behind-the-Scenes Look at Disney World’s ‘Zootopia’ Attraction

We’re looking forward to seeing the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show as much as you are, and with each passing day, we’re getting closer and closer!

This new show opens on November 7th in the Tree of Life Theatre. Similar to the former show in this space, It’s Tough to Be A Bug, this will be a 4D show where we watch as all the residents of Zootopia gear up for Zoogether Day, a citywide celebration, complete with lots of performances from the many diverse biomes that make up Zootopia. However, also similar to the former attraction, there will be an animatronic in the theater to see, and now we have some photos to show us what he’s looking like!

The new animatronic that will be in the theater with guests is none other than Gazelle’s number one fan and off-duty ZPD officer, Benjamin Clawhauser! While we first met him in Zootopia in his uniform (and sometimes holding a tasty donut), in this show, he’ll be decked out from head to tail with a brand-new look for the party, including glow necklaces, bracelets, and a glittery Gazelle tee shirt.

Based on these new photos Disney just released, he’s looking great as an animatronic! In fact, we’d say he looks so similar to the screen version that it looks like he just hopped right out of the movie and joined us in the real world. During the show, he wants nothing more than to be chosen as the V.I.Z. (the Very Important Zootopian), who gets special access to the Zootopia Day performers. However, spoiler alert, it doesn’t work out, and he takes matters into his own hands, which MAY be where we see the story really start!

We can’t wait to see him in action, as well as put on those special “Carrot Vision” 3D glasses that will give us access to all the fun, and get to see some great returning characters from the film, as well as new additions like fast-talking, loud-howling wolf host Heidi Howler.

Don’t forget that the new show isn’t the ONLY new Zootopia addition coming to the parks. On the same day as the show’s opening, a new meet and greet with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will also open right near the Tree of Life!
