REVIEW: 20 Bowling Lanes, 25 TVs, and Impressive Food?! Don’t Sleep on This Downtown Disney Spot

Planning a trip to Disneyland Resort and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

Splitsville Dining!

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you may want to avoid. We recently stopped by Splitsville Luxury Lanes in Downtown Disney and are bringing you our FULL review. Is it JUST for bowling, or is the food worth the cost, too?

Background

Looking for somewhere to go where you can have a meal AND have fun bowling? Splitsville is totally for you then! Lots of people think this spot is only for bowling, or they don’t even give the food the time of day, but we’re here to see if that’s truly the way to go.

Splitsville

Splitsville opened in Disney Springs in Orlando back in 2012, then opened in Disneyland in April 2018. Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

You’ll find seating both inside and outside, and across it all, there are more than 20 bowling lanes and 25 big screen TVs. They’ve also got live entertainment occasionally! It’s a great way to spend some time with your family and friends if you’re looking for a true activity in the area, rather than just walking around a shopping all day.

Lots of TVs!

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First up, we grabbed the Buffalo Eggrolls for $19 as our appetizer. These are Hand-rolled and filled with Buffalo Chicken, Cream Cheese, Celery, and Carrots. Served with Avocado Ranch.

Buffalo Eggrolls

The egg rolls themselves had a pretty mild buffalo spice flavor, so if you want an extra kick, dip them into the buffalo sauce you’re given on the side. The egg roll shell was crunchy and sweet, and the inside was packed with buffalo chicken, which we loved. The celery and carrots on the side, as well as the avocado ranch, were very fresh and countered the spicy flavor beautifully. We’d definitely get it again.

Totally packed!

Our entree was the Maui Chicken for $24, which is Hand-breaded, crispy-fried Chicken Breast topped with grilled Pineapple, Teriyaki, Asian Slaw, Cilantro, and spicy Mayo on a sweet roll.

Maui Chicken

This was totally our favorite of all the items we had — the fried chicken was juicy, tender, and full of flavor, especially with the teriyaki and grilled pineapple adding those sweet and tropical flavors. The skin was sweet and crispy, and the Asian slaw added a nice crunch. The spicy mayo didn’t stand out much, though, so that’s something to keep in mind if you really want that kick. And those crinkle-cut fries? Much better than we expected!

Delicious!

Then it was time for dessert! We couldn’t stop ourselves from grabbing the Super Sundae for $10, and WOW was this rich! We certainly recommend sharing it, because between both ice creams and the chocolate and caramel sauce, it’s a lot to handle.

Super Sundae

The whipped cream was nice and light, but it wasn’t enough to offset the richness (which we didn’t mind, we’d just share it next time!).

So rich!

To drink, we grabbed the Big Wave Dave for $16, which is a frozen blend of Bacardi Dragonberry, 151 Rum, and Blue Raspberry Lemonade.

Big Wave Dave

This was sweet and refreshing in its icee form, and while the main flavor is blue raspberry, you can taste the hint of tart lemon. We couldn’t make out the dragonberry flavor, but the rum flavor was definitely present, so if you want to grab this one, you need to know that you’ll taste the alcohol for sure.

Magic or Tragic?
