Ch-ch-cha-cha-changes in how you experience EPCOT with Lightning Lane is coming SOON!

After months of closure, revamping one of EPCOT’s most sought-after rides, the day for Test Track to reopen is almost here! While we’ve been fortunate enough to step inside its doors already for a taste of what awaits us with the new changes and see just how much this beloved ride has changed, there’s still one more change you’ll need to be aware of BEFORE its official opening day!
It’s almost time for Test Track to rejoin the ride ranks of EPCOT as Test Track 3.0, and we’re beside ourselves with excitement for it to FINALLY reopen once again on July 22nd.

In this new version of Test Track, you’ll discover the future of transportation. This high-speed joyride is a mixture of the thrill of the open road and the innovation of the future. You’ll zip past scenic vistas, discover how new technology is shaping the way we connect and the world around us, and then get a glimpse into the future of mobility and the cities of tomorrow.

Test Track is set to reopen on July 22nd, but if you’re thinking about purchasing Lightning Lanes to help you throughout your day, you’ll want to pay attention a few days even before that! Visitors staying at a Disney World hotel can purchase Lightning Lane up to 7 days in advance of their visit and make Lightning Lane selections in advance of their trip. Day visitors can do the same up to 3 days in advance.
With Test Track reopening soon, this means we’ll be seeing it added to the lineup of Tier 1 ride offerings available for selection when those windows open before its opening date. If you’re looking to secure a ride as one of the first when it returns, you’ll want to make sure you choose it as one of your selections if your visit falls within these windows ahead of the ride’s opening date.

With it being reworked into the Lightning Lane lineup, that means that Soarin’ will be bumped down to a Tier 2 selection. We’re anticipating Lightning Lanes to be very popular for Test Track as it reopens, so there’s a good chance that if you’re not grabbing it early, they could be sold out for the day when you visit.

Don’t worry, though, if you don’t happen to grab it as a Lightning Lane initially, not all hope is lost. As other folks move their plans around and change their minds, it’s important to remember to keep checking back to see if you can modify your Lightning Lane selections ahead of your visit and even during your park day. And, if all else fails, there will still be a standby line available for you if you’re willing to wait!
We’ll be out covering the crowds, the hot takes, the reception, and more of Disney World’s newest ride revival! Be sure to stay tuned with us as we bring you along for it all on Test Track’s opening day!
