In which Disney World park is it hardest to choose a restaurant? If you ask us, it’s probably EPCOT!

There are SO many delicious restaurants to choose from in this park, whether you’re going for quick service or you’re trying to enjoy a sit-down meal. And with 11 different World Showcase Pavilions, you can try cuisine from around the world! Recently, we visited one of those World Showcase restaurants, and today we’re sharing our thoughts — you can decide if this sounds like a great option for your upcoming vacation.
Background
For this review, we’re heading to Spice Road Table in the Morocco Pavilion! This spot is located on the waterfront side of the pavilion, next door to Souk-al-Magreb.

Here, they serve Mediterranean-inspired small plates, so it feels more like a lounge than a full table service meal.
Atmosphere
The entrance to the restaurant is a small archway below the sign, and here you’ll find the host’s stand where you can check in for your reservation or the walk-up waitlist.

Inside this foyer, you’ll see dozens of spices on display — fitting for the restaurant’s name! They also have an ice water station here that we love to stop at when we’re visiting EPCOT. You don’t have to dine at the restaurant to use it.

This room also displays a map of the Spice Road, which was a route for trade that traversed Africa and Asia.

In the next room, you’ll find the restaurant’s bar. You can pop in here to grab a drink or order something from the bar when you sit down to dine.

There are two different seating areas. One indoors on the right has a mix of booths and tables with window views of World Showcase Lagoon.

Then, on the left side of the restaurant, they have outdoor seating with tables and chairs. This area has ceiling fans to help keep you cool on those hot days.

So what’s on the menu? Let’s dive into what we ordered.
Food & Drinks
First up, we grabbed the Calamari with Harissa Rémoulade for $13. This is a new dish at Spice Road Table.

It’s not too crispy, but it has a nice chew to it overall. There’s a briny, seafood taste on the inside like you’d typically expect from calamari. It’s topped with some fresh veggies and comes with a lemon slice on the side to brighten up the fried-ness. It’s served with two sauces — one that’s the same Citrus-Chipotle that comes with the Hummus Fries, and the other is the Harissa Rémoulade, which wasn’t spicy at all.

Our next item of choice was the Spice Road Sampler for $15, which is great if you want a little bit of variety. It comes with Zaalouk, Spiced Lamb Kefta, and House-made Hummus Fries in small portions.
The first item in the sampler is the Zaalouk, which comes with four pieces of naan. The flavor here is chipotle-esque and has diced tomatoes inside for a bit of freshness. It has a low heat to it that pairs well with the bread.

The lamb kefta is the same that you get over at Tangierine Cafe in kebab form. It’s a little bit lumpier in texture but comes with a yummy dipping sauce on the side and has a nice rich flavor.

The hummus fries are fried kind of like a falafel, and you get three of them with the sampler, which is a pretty generous portion. They’re topped with fresh veggies and come with a slightly spicy Citrus-Chipotle dipping sauce on the side. The sauce adds some heat and zing, but the fries on their own reminded us of a cake pop made with hummus. Pretty delicious and very interesting!

And for dessert, we ordered the Dessert Platter for $11, which is made with assorted Moroccan pastries.

Starting off with the cake, it was almost like a spiced carrot cake. It had a sweet honey-sugar at the bottom that helped elevate the other flavors. It was quite good, in our opinion!

The flaky pastry tasted kind of like if a croissant and a cinnamon roll had a baby. It had a light coating of honey and chopped up nuts inside. Really delicious!

The cookie was incredibly soft and had a little bit of spice coming through (not spicy, more spiced). It’s a little bit chewy, but it has a vibe similar to a sugar cookie. The center is topped with a cherry.

To drink, we picked up the Pomegranate Mimosa for $14.50. This is VERY heavy on the “mimosa” side of things, and the pomegranate flavor is pretty light overall. If you’ve got issues with certain textures, you should know that this drink has actual pomegranate seeds floating in it. Â

So how does this meal stack up?
Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re a fan of Mediterranean food. If you’re willing to be a little adventurous with your flavors, this is a great spot for you.
- You want a lounge-type experience. This definitely has lounge vibes with the small plates menu — it’s made to share!
- You want to try some unique eats. These are foods you can’t really get anywhere else in Disney World, especially with Restaurant Marrakesh closed.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You’ve got picky eaters. There aren’t really any options for those with limited palates on the menu.
- You want a hearty meal. These items are designed more for tasting and sharing as opposed to filling up quickly.
Spice Road Table Restaurant
Services: Table Service
We were seriously impressed with our visit to Spice Road Table, and we’ll definitely look forward to going back in the future! There’s a decent amount of spicy food on the menu here, so beware when ordering, but the atmosphere is lovely and offers you the opportunity to sit indoors or outdoors and have a great view while you dine.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
