We have some great news if you are heading to Disney World soon, and you or someone you are traveling with has sensory sensitivities! If you plan on flying to the Orlando International Airport, you need to know about a new space that recently opened.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) recently unveiled a brand-new sensory room! The room is dedicated to “offering a safe, calming environment for travelers with sensory sensitivities.” We are so excited about this addition to MCO!
The new room is called Annie’s Space Sensory Room, and you can find it in Terminal A on level 3 before security. It is open daily from 7 AM until 9 PM. This brand-new space is intended for travelers with sensory sensitivities and their families. While everyone is welcome to use this space, Orlando International Airport asks that you respect that it is a shared environment. No food or drinks are allowed in the room, and an adult must always accompany children.
The room features a variety of interactive activities, all themed to space. It seeks to provide a welcoming environment for travelers with sensory sensitivities. GOAA Board Members and airport leadership unveiled the new room, and representatives from Autism Speaks, the Autism Society of Greater Orlando, the Autism Society of Florida, and the nonPareil Institute also came to the grand opening to experience and participate in this new experience.

Orlando International Airport hopes this new room will help create a “more accessible and supportive travel experience for all.” We are so excited to see Annie’s Space Sensory Room open, and we hope that those with sensory sensitivities can take advantage of this new space when traveling through Orlando International Airport.

Orlando International Airport is the most popular airport to fly in and out of if you are heading to Disney World. It offers the most flights, but you can also consider flying into the Orlando Sanford International Airport. While the Sanford airport is a bit farther out, you could save some money by flying into that airport instead. It never hurts to check out a few different options to see which choice is the best choice for your family!
