Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of our favorite Disney World hotels to visit. Not only is the hotel just stunningly beautiful, but it also has some of our favorite food.

For example, you’ve got Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe. Then there’s ‘Ohana, which is more or less legendary. Pineapple Lanai is our go-to for Dole Whip outside the parks. Then there’s the oft-overlooked Kona Island, which often has some really good snacks — and now, there are new snacks to check out there.
First, we want to assure you that the Chocolate-Covered Bacon is still available (although it’s not listed on the website and My Disney Experience app menus).

BUT there are also some new snacks, and we stopped by the Polynesian to check them out. The Chocolate Haupia Tart for $5.99 comes with Toasted Meringue. It has a nice buttery crust filled with creamy haupia (a Hawaiian coconut pudding). Then there’s a milk chocolate coating on top.

Although this is tasty, we didn’t get a lot of the coconut flavor — it tasted more almond or vanilla-like to us. There was also some crunch in the coconut pudding (perhaps coconut flakes?). Also, this thing will melt, but when it all melts together, it’s almost like a gooey S’more. We really loved the addition of the coffee bean because it added a lot of extra flavor — in fact, we would’ve loved to have seen more coffee beans on it.

Also new to Kona Island is the Coconut-Pineapple Choux with Fresh Whipped Cream for $7.29. First, this is such a pretty dessert, but it’s also tasty. However, the choux was a little soggy, and we think it might’ve been sitting around for a while.

Inside is a nice light coconut and pineapple filling that is SO creamy and gives the dessert a tropical vibe. The whipped cream on top is just whipped cream, but it tastes homemade.

Our biggest complaint is that we wish the choux was a touch crispier, but overall, we still really enjoyed this snack.
