A CLOSED Magic Kingdom Attraction Has Partially Reopened

There are quite a few attractions closed in Disney World right now.

Magic Kingdom

From temporary closures like the Astro Orbiter and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to permanent shutdowns like the recently closed Muppet*Vision 3D, your Disney World trip may look a little different this year. If you’re a history junkie, the Hall of Presidents closure may be disappointing during your trip…but now part of the attraction has reopened.

The Hall of Presidents has been closed since January 20th, 2025, to get its usual updates whenever a new president is inaugurated. The process typically takes several months, as Disney adds new animatronics or moves old ones around.

At this time, the show is still closed for refurbishment, but we noticed during a recent visit that the lobby gallery area has reopened!

The lobby

When you enter the building, you’ll find a gallery exhibit dedicated to the history of the American presidents. You can see the presidential seal, check out artifacts from former presidents, and admire portraits from decades or centuries ago.

Artifacts

If you’re a history buff, this is definitely a must-see! Typically, people like to sit in here and check out the exhibits while they wait for the next showing of Hall of Presidents, but now you can come in here and look to your heart’s content.

Even a bust of Abe Lincoln

There are no hours listed for the gallery on the website, so it may not be open regularly or all day long. Just make sure to check when you walk by or ask a Cast Member in Liberty Square if you’re unsure.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated when we get an opening date for the attraction itself. It’s supposed to be sometime later in 2025.
