OK, Disney fans. We’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that a Disney hotel restaurant is permanently closed, effective immediately. We didn’t even have time to mourn!
That’s right — Picabu, a “buffeteria” that offered an assortment of grab-and-go items and made-to-order foods, is closed. But there’s already something NEW on the way! This is where the good news comes forward: get ready for a new “innovative game room experience” that combines food AND fun. Come with us to meet Lagoon!
The Swan & Dolphin Hotel quietly announced a new game room experience called Lagoon Games, Lanes, and Eats. As the name implies, we expect this new spot to have arcade games, a bowling alley, and (most importantly, if you ask us) FOOD. Here’s a little map that shows the proposed layout. It’s like one of Disney’s hotel arcade rooms, but BIGGER and BETTER.
Now, as we hinted, there will also be food available here! According to the Swan and Dolphin website, Lagoon will offer a mix of full meals and snacks. We’re thinking the menu will have bowling alley-type foods, like burgers, pizza, and french fries. Stay tuned for updates when the official menu drops!
We also know that this space will be open from 11 AM to 11 PM daily, which makes it a great spot to go if you need a late-night snack after a long day in the parks. There is plenty of lounge seating for a cozy, casual meal.
Based on the concept art, it looks like there will be all kinds of classic arcade games! We see an air hockey table…
…a Skee-Ball machine, and two Power Roll arcade games. The Lagoon Games announcement teased the “latest in interactive gaming, from thrilling new releases to timeless classics.”
As you can see, the area is currently closed for refurbishment. We still don’t have an opening date for the new Lagoon transformation, but we’ll be sure to let you know more as soon as new details are announced.
So, while we’re sad to see Picabu go, we’re excited for what’s ahead! Don’t forget — the Swan and Dolphin Resort has a TON of great dining options. From bluezoo to The Fountain, there’s a great mix of classic American eats and elevated plates.

When i was a kid in the 70s, we would stay at ft wilderness and usually the first night take the boat over to the contemporary to the fiesta fun center on the 1st floor in the contemporary. They had quick service food and a great game room and a small theater that showed a disney movie every night. Great memories of doing that every trip.
