NEWS: New “Game Room Experience” Announced Following Permanent Restaurant CLOSURE in Disney World

When people think of Disney World hotels, they often think of some of the most well-known resorts, like Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Hotel, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, or the Contemporary.

In fact, a lot of people forget that while Disney doesn’t technically own the Swan & Dolphin Hotels, they ARE on Disney World property and have a lot of the same perks you get at Deluxe Disney World hotels for a lower cost. If you’re a big fan of these hotels, we’ve got some important news you need to know — one spot has just been permanently CLOSED inside the Dolphin Hotel, but we already know what is next for the space.

Picabu, a grab-and-go type restaurant in the Dolphin Hotel, has permanently closed, and it was EXTREMELY sudden. It’s so sudden that the Disney World website hasn’t even been updated yet — while it doesn’t show any hours, it is still listed on the website in general.

So, what’s happening with this spot? Well, the Swan & Dolphin Hotel just announced that a new game room called Lagoon Games, Lanes, and Eats is coming to the hotel, and based on the layout, it’s clear it’s going right in the spot that Picabu was located.

There will also be a dining space in the new game area, and according to the website, you’ll be able to experience a mix of full meals as well as snacks. It’ll be open from 11 AM to 11 PM daily, which makes it a great spot to go if you need a bite later at night.

As for the games featured here, we know it’ll mix some classics with the latest in interactive gaming, so we’re really looking forward to seeing how this new area measures up compared to other hotel game rooms around the resort.

We stopped by the hotel ourselves today, and sure enough, it’s entirely closed up.

While there is a placard to the side of the door that says Game Room, right now that’s the only indication for what this space is turning into.

Right now, we don’t have an opening date or timeline for this attraction, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated when we hear one!
