Okay, we hate to be, well, haters…but there are some restaurants in Disney’s Hollywood Studios we just can’t stand.

Yes, we’ll talk a lot about the food we love in Hollywood Studios, like Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box and the updated menu at ABC Commissary. But there are some restaurants that we just don’t love, and we’re going to talk about those we avoid.
We want to hear YOUR thoughts! Leave a review right here on AllEars for the restaurants you’ve been to so you can help out fellow Disney lovers planning their next trip!
First, we’ll let you know that just because we don’t like a restaurant doesn’t mean you won’t like it. We just have our reasons.
Catalina Eddie’s
We’ll admit that we visit this restaurant so little that we often forget it exists. The menu is pretty basic with just okay pizzas and salads. Like we said, it’s pretty forgettable. There’s also very little seating in this area, which is another reason we’re just not big fans.

Now, if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or need to satsify picky eaters, this might be exactly what you’re looking for. This is also one of the spots where you can get the Toffee and Coconut Blondie, which we do love.
Hollywood & Vine
Hollywood & Vine is the only character dining experience in Hollywood Studios, but the food is just…well, it’s a mediocre Disney buffet. If we want a true Hollywood-vibe meal that tastes good, we’ll just go to Hollywood Brown Derby instead.

However, this is the ONLY dining spot in Disney World where kids can meet Disney Jr. characters with breakfast. If you’re looking to meet classic Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy, they’re available at lunch and dinner. The seasonal dining themes are also a lot of fun.

Sci-Fi Dine-In
This is another themed restaurant in Hollywood Studios that just doesn’t deliver on the food. It’s burgers, fries, and shakes, and that just isn’t enough to make us want to make a reservation here.

However, the theming really does make you feel like you’re in a drive-in theater — even the tables are shaped like cars. Kids will love the vibe, as well as those adults who want to feel a bit of nostalgia. Plus the food is also picky eater-friendly.

Sunshine Day Bar
Here’s another location we forget exists. You can grab cocktails here, but they’re pretty generic. You can get more unique themed drinks at places like Tune-In Lounge and the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge.

However, if you’re just really craving a Strawberry Daiquiri or even a regular Beer, you’ll find it here.
Dockside Diner
Dockside Diner is another one of those forgettable spots with a basic menu featuring hot dogs and a few generic cocktails. You can also grab milkshakes here, including seasonal flavors.

However, basic is great for groups with kids or picky eaters. Also, the hotdogs are a little imaginative — you can get a Bacon Macaroni Cheese Dog and a Pretzel Hot Dog, which could make for a fun meal.

Fairfax Fare
Granted, Fairfax Fare’s menu has improved a bit from before and you can now get some bowls here, but they’re nothing to write home about. There’s also the problem of finding a place to sit to eat your meal: seating is virtually non-existent.

But the bowls aren’t bad and there’s a good variety like a Korean Barbecued Pork Belly Bowl, a Barbecued Beef Brisket Bowl, and a Buffalo Chicken Bowl. You’ll also occasionally find some good seasonal snacks here.

So where SHOULD you grab a meal or snack in Hollywood Studios? Well, we have some favorites. That includes Hollywood Brown Derby (or the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge), as well as BaseLine Tap House. We feel the food at both of these locations is good.

Agree food at Hollywood and vine is only average although chef Mickey food is worse ! I am from uk and have just returned from Disneyland Paris where we did an amazing character meal in the park at the Plaza Garden . Not only was the food a spectacular buffet but there were 6 characters ! Including Mickey and Minnie ! If Paris can do amazing food with characters that interact wonderfully with the children , no rush , and attentive service why can’t wdw do the same ?? My grand daughter age 7 was mesmerised by the continual arrival of characters they even came twice ! It put wdw character dining to shame !
Respectfully disagree about Sci-Fi, absolutely love that place
