Booking Disney World Lightning Lanes this morning seems to be a bit more complicated than normal.

On the morning of January 20th, the app seemed to have no Lightning Lane Multi or Single Passes available to purchase on February 9th or 10th, even though those should both be available since they fall into the pass’s usual purchase window.
The app indicated that it was “unable to find experiences” for the selected dates…

… both of which were unavailable to select off of the calendar as well.

Typically, Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass can be purchased in advance (depending on the date of your visit and whether or not you’re staying at a Disney World hotel) and February 9th and 10th should be available now, meaning that the app’s issues are potentially affecting vacation planning for some as of this morning.
Speaking of eligible guests, Disney has announced a change to who is eligible to purchase the Lightning Lane Premier Pass option. Previously, only folks staying at Walt Disney World resort hotels could do so. However, as confirmed on their website, that has changed. According to the company, “Beginning January 21, Walt Disney World Resort will expand the Lightning Lane Premier Pass pilot to all Guests. Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels will be eligible to purchase up to 7 days before the first day of their Resort stay—and other Guests will be eligible to purchase up to 3 days in advance of their park visit.”

Whether the technical issues plaguing the Walt Disney World app this morning can be attributed to this change in Lightning Lane Premier Pass eligibility remains to be seen. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on Disney World’s operations.
