There are quite a few new things coming to Disney World in the next few years!

We’re waiting on new lands, new rides, and multiple new dining locations — there’s going to be so much to see and do! But if you’re looking for somewhere new to stay on your next trip, we’ve got some important news.
Disney has announced in a press release that a NEW resort is coming to Walt Disney World in 2027. Disney Lakeshore Lodge will open in the same footprint that was previously slated for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge resort.

Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge was announced several years ago, before the pandemic, but construction was seemingly halted when the parks and resorts reopened. Since then, Disney hasn’t shared any details about its future. But a few months ago, we began to notice construction in the area where the resort was originally supposed to stand.

Since then, we’ve even seen some permits filed for construction in that area. Now, it looks like we’ll be getting a new hotel! We’ll make sure to update you if Disney shares new concept art or details soon. For now, Disney has stated that “The resort will be inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

Once again, Disney is building to accommodate more and more people without additional parks to spread out these “more people”. Additionally, the original atmosphere of Fort Wilderness will be swallowed up and spit out.
I pass 5 days a week infront of this new Hotel in construction ( resort, so they can charge more. And it really 2 more years out ? They are updating the road in front. I also heard it a DVC ( Hotel) .
Nice to have a new hotel, but this one is being built on the Old Water Park site right next to Fort Willderness lodge. Fort Wilderness has always been a very quite and tranquil place off the beaten path of other Disney attractions. My take is I believe Fort Wilderness will loose it’s quite namesake since this resort is just a stones throw from the lodge and restaurants in Fort Wilderness. To me, this is another Disney mistake that will come back and haunt them in the long run.
From the rendering, it looks like another cookie cutter hotel with a few themed items thrown in. So, basically, the parks aren’t crowded enough so they’ll add a few hundred more hotel rooms to exasperate the situation. Raise the ticket prices and sell more premium access items to avoid the longer lines. Ah, the Disney experience.
