4 Souvenirs You Should Never, Ever, Ever Buy at Disney World

A big thing about Disney World that we can’t help but indulge in is definitely….souvenirs! With so many adorable and awesome things displayed on shelves and racks, it’s hard to resist.

But, because we love our Disney merch, there are 4 souvenirs we are practically begging you not to fall into the trap of purchasing. Here’s all you need to know to avoid making these mistakes on your next trip to Disney World!

Ponchos

Florida weather can be totally unpredictable, which means a bright sunny day can turn into heavy rainfall seemingly out of nowhere. Because of that, ponchos are a definite necessity, and we appreciate that Disney sells them in case you’re caught by surprise.

Poncho

However, they are pretty pricey, especially when compared to other ponchos that are made from higher-quality materials. So although it can be convenient to snag one at the parks, we suggest you purchase a poncho ahead of time and save those $12 for a souvenir or a delicious snack.

And if you’re reading this inside of your Disney hotel with no time to order a poncho, select non-Disney-owned hotels also have a Pharmacy Vending Machine inside, like the Swan and Dolphin Hotel. These ponchos are available for just $3!

 Over-the-counter meds

And just like the weather is unpredictable, so are our bodies. A sudden cold, a headache, and much more can affect us even when we’re vacationing in the most magical place on earth. Which is why over-the-counter meds are important to carry around.

But if you find yourself at Disney World with a need for some relief, we’d suggest even skipping the Pharmacy Vending Machine around the property for something more instant. The First Aid Centers inside of the parks offer free sample sizes of medications which you can get just by walking in.  Simple and free!

Clothes

Extra clothes are an underrated essential to take on park days. Whether it’s a drastic change in the weather, or you took a ride down the bayou, you’ll find yourself wanting a change of clothes at some point.

Of course, you can always find extra clothes in gift shops

Although Disney does sell clothing in their merch stores, they have a pretty hefty price tag attached to them. For instance, $80 for a spirit jersey just because it’s a little chilly is just not the move sometimes, no matter how cute it might be. So we suggest packing some extra clothes to take to the parks with you so you’re not caught between purchasing an expensive outfit or remaining uncomfortable the rest of the day.

 Bottled Water

Staying hydrated is CRUCIAL during your Disney World vacation. But with that being said, we understand that purchasing $4 water bottles every time you’re thirsty can rack up costs. So we recommend putting down the Dasani water bottle and trying this free option instead.

Water Bottle Refill Station

Water bottle refill stations are sprinkled throughout the park and are free to use. If you bring an insulated water bottle with you to the parks, you can enjoy nice cool water whenever you want at $0.00. Select quick-service restaurants also offer cups of iced water for free, so we suggest trying these options out before purchasing a bottle of water.
