HELP! Why Won’t Disney World Fix This Unnecessarily Complicated Transportation Rule?!

Disney World transportation is some of the best free transportation ever.

Disney bus

You can use the Skyliner, boats, monorail, or buses to get around the entire resort. Depending on where you’re going, you can hop on one of these options to get there. However, there is one option that Disney does not currently offer, and we don’t understand why!

If you’re staying at a Disney World resort, you can hop on one of the transportation options available at your hotel to get to one of the four theme parks, the water parks, and Disney Springs.

While the Skyliner, monorail, buses, or boats may be options to go between hotels and the theme parks, getting to Disney Springs can be a bit more complicated. Unfortunately, you can’t just hop on a bus to Disney Springs from just anywhere, and that’s the transportation problem we wish Disney would change. From your hotel, you can generally hop on a bus (or boat, depending on the hotel) and go straight to Disney Springs. But that’s not the case if you’re already at a park!

Taking an afternoon break from the theme parks is a common thing, and making a quick trip to Disney Springs to grab some food or check out the various attractions there would make for a fun afternoon jaunt. But if you’re at one of the four parks, you won’t be able to get to Disney Springs so easily. It’s far more complicated than just simply jumping on a bus or boat.

Magic Kingdom Bus Depot

If you’re at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom and want to take a quick trip to Disney Springs, you’ll have to hop on a bus to one of the hotels and THEN get on a bus to Disney Springs. This means, depending on when you arrive at the hotel, you could be waiting a while before the Disney Springs bus even gets there. And when you want to head back to the park, you’ll have to go through the same difficulty getting there, just in reverse. It’s a transportation headache that simply seems unnecessary!

Bus Station at EPCOT

There are no other transportation options from any of the parks to get to Disney Springs, so this convoluted bus system is the only way to get there for now unless you drive yourself. If you’re starting at a hotel, you have options to go anywhere, but unfortunately, that’s not the case once you get to a park.

Other than this minor inconvenience, we really love Disney World’s transportation system! The different options are great and easy to use, plus it’s awesome that they’re free. If you don’t want to rent a car on your next Disney trip, remember to check your hotel for its transportation options and schedule.

  1. No bus to Disney Springs, but there is a bus from each of the parks to Sarasota Springs. That’s been our go-to way to get there from one of the parks: get off at the Congress Park bus stop and walk to Disney Springs from there
