Each night, the skies around Magic Kingdom light up for a ‘kiss goodnight.’
Fireworks are a magical part of any trip to Disney World, but what is not so magical is the crowds. Main Street, U.S.A., and the areas around the castle can be wall-to-wall with people. Sometimes, people reserve their fireworks spot hours in advance to see all the projections on the castle. While we totally understand wanting to get the best spot, this can take up precious hours of your park day, and you may end up with a restricted view due to people trying to find a spot at the last minute. Did you know that there is actually a way you can skip out on the crowds and enjoy the fireworks?
While Tomorrowland Terrace might have abandoned its original duties as a quick-service location, it is actually home to a variety of fireworks dessert parties. That’s right! The Magic Kingdom offers a few different dessert parties to help end your night on a high note!
Types of Dessert Parties
There are currently five different varieties of fireworks parties, and we will tell you all about them. Each party costs an additional fee, and pricing varies depending on which party you select.
The first is the Seats & Sweets version. One hour before the fireworks, you will check in at Tomorrowland Terrace. This experience starts in a reserved seating area with a buffet of desserts and beverages. As the fireworks time approaches, you’ll be escorted to your seats on the patio of Tomorrowland Terrace. It starts at $119 for adults and $75 for children.
If you want to have a spot on the hubgrass to view the fireworks, the Pre-Party might be a better option for you. 75 minutes before showtime, you will check in at Tomorrowland Terrace. The event starts at Tomorrowland Terrace with a buffet of desserts and beverages. As showtime nears, Cast Members will escort you to a prime standing area in the Plaza Garden for a priority viewing of the fireworks. The Pre-Party option is a little cheaper, and it starts at $99 for adults and $59 for children.
There is no party without a post-party, and you can partake in the Post-Party Dessert Party as well. One hour before showtime, you will check in at Tomorrowland Terrace. Shortly before the fireworks start, Cast Members will escort you to a prime standing area in the Plaza Garden. After the nighttime spectacular, you’ll be escorted back to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Pricing is the same as the Pre-Party and starts at $99 for adults and $59 for children.
We are in the holiday season at Disney World. Although Halloween has just wrapped up and Christmas is on the way, there are also fireworks and dessert parties at both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In order to partake, you must have a ticket to the party.
During the Halloween season, Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party is available on select nights during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You can check in at Tomorrowland Terrace an hour before showtime.
Two seating options are still included with dessert. The first is the Tomorrowland Terrace Seating, which starts at $119 for adults and $75 for children. You can also choose the Plaza Garden Reserved Standing, which starts at $99 for adults and $59 for children.
During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can attend the Holiday Wishes Dessert Premium Package, which is available on select dates during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Check-in starts at Tomorrowland Terrace an hour before showtime. You must have a ticket to the party to be able to attend.
Just like Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party, seating at Tomorrowland Terrace starts at $119 for adults and $75 for children. The Plaza Garden Reserved Standing prices start at $99 for adults and $59 for children.
What You Need to Know
Now that we have the party types out of the way, here are five things you need to know.
Prices Vary
The party’s prices vary depending on the time of year. The prices listed above are just the starting point. They typically stay very close in the price range.
Dessert is Included
It is in the name, so of course, each of these offerings comes with dessert. The menu of treats for all of the dessert parties is the same but may vary throughout the year to reflect the season. The desserts are served via buffet, and the holiday dessert parties will often offer festive twists on classic treats. Plus, a variety of cheeses are included.
Alcohol and Other Beverages are Included
Guests ages 21 and over with a valid form of identification are served an assortment of beer and wine. Soft drinks, sparkling cider, hot chocolate, signature lemonades, coffee, and tea are also available.
You Don’t Get to Choose Your Seats
One of the downsides of the dessert parties is that a Cast Member will seat you if you choose to sit in Tomorrowland Terrace. Sitting in Tomorrowland Terrace costs more money because you get a dedicated seat, and you can sometimes be placed in the back row with an obstructed view due to the roof. You are usually allowed to stand near the railing during the fireworks.
