Disney World's NEW Restaurant Has Created An Unexpected Rivalry

This new restaurant and bakery was set to open in 2023, but construction took a little extra time. We watched as construction progressed, and one of the most significant milestones before their soft opening was the release of the menu. Many Disney fans were shocked to see some of the prices, and The Cake Bake Shop ended up revising some pricing on their menu. Since its soft opening last week, we have tried many treats from the bakery and dined for both breakfast and dinner. Of course, we also tried the controversial $23 cake slices, but some Disney fans are comparing these slices to another popular bakery at Disney World.

In Disney Springs, you can find the super popular Gideon’s Bakehouse. This bakery is known for its long lines of people trying to get their hands on their delicious cookies daily. Not only does Gideon’s sell cookies, but they also sell large cake slices.

The difference between Gideon’s cake slices and The Cake Bake Shop is the price. At Gideon’s, their cake slices cost $9, and as mentioned at The Cake Bake Shop, a slice of cake will cost you $23.

When we went to The Cake Bake Shop, we tried the Millionaire Cake, and right away, we thought about Gideon’s. Now brace yourselves. While the cake at The Cake Bake Shop is expensive, we liked it better than Gideon’s cake slices. We are in no way saying Gideon’s cake slices are not good because, trust us, they are delicious, but The Cake Bake Shop just might have Gideon’s beat. And we were not the only ones who started to compare these two bakeries.
