Disney World Files Permit for Construction at POPULAR Hotel

Big changes are coming to Disney World!

Disney has filed permits for the Test Track reimagining, the new villains show coming to Hollywood Studios, Rivers of America, and more. New attractions, new lands, and new shows are coming to the parks soon, but the parks aren’t the only areas of Disney World that are getting work done. Disney has also filed permits for hotel refurbishments, and we just spotted another new one for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

A new permit submitted by Disney Vacation Club Management Corp. popped up earlier this month for general construction at an address that is associated with Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Kidani Village is the Disney Vacation Club building where DVC members can reserve villas for their stay using points. You can also rent points or pay cash value to stay at these villas. One of our favorite restaurants, Sanaa, is located at Kidani Village as well. And now it appears that some refurbishments may begin here soon.

The permit is for work to be done by Barton Marlow Company, which is based out of Orlando, Florida. The permit is good until December 31st, 2025, which is over the standard one-year expiration date of commencement.

Disney has not yet shared plans for this refurbishment, but it’s not unusual for hotel rooms to get updates now and then. Currently, there is a message on the Sanaa website that the exterior of Kidani Village will undergo refurbishments from September to late December 2024. However, this current permit was filed on October 4th, so it’s unclear if these refurbishments are connected.
