Hurricane Milton is on its way to Florida, and Disney World is preparing for the storm.

Yesterday, Disney World announced that three hotels would close ahead of the storm. These hotels include Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. These three resorts will temporarily close beginning at 11AM on Wednesday, October 9th. On top of these resort closures, Disney World also relaxed its cancelation policies ahead of the storm. And as of today, October 8th, another update has just been made.
Originally, the update allowed for change and cancellation fees for guests with check-in dates of October 6th through October 12th will be waived due to potential weather impacts to travel plans.

But now another update has been made to this policy. Now, “Due to potential weather impacts to guest travel plans, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for check-in dates of Tuesday, 10/8 – Monday, 10/14.”

This update will now allow for greater flexibility of those who may need to change their travel dates ahead of the storm. If you need to update your travel plans you can do so online by logging in to your MyDisney account and going to “My Reservations”, and then you will see a link for “Modify Reservation” or by calling (407) 939-5277.

It is also important to note that if you are planning on visiting Disney World during Hurricane Milton to check your flight status as the Orlando International Airport (MCO), will cease operations starting tomorrow, October 9th.

Hurricane Milton is set to hit Florida tomorrow, October 9th, and is currently a Category Four hurricane. Orange and Osceola County, where Disney World resides, is currently under a hurricane warning. As of today, October 8th, all four parks and Typhoon Lagoon will operate as normal.

Stay tuned to AllEars as we will continue to monitor the storm and any news of Disney World’s potential closures ahead of Hurricane Milton.
