The NEW Disney World Restaurant That’s a Must-Visit in October

Trying to decide where to dine when you visit Disney World? There are so many options!

Disney Springs

Even if you’ve got a specific location, like a park or Disney Springs, there can still be a dozen different choices available for your next dining reservation. You may want to choose an old favorite or try something new and exciting. And if you’re looking for something new, there’s a relatively new spot in Disney Springs that you might want to check out!

Summer House on the Lake opened last year in Disney Springs. This spot is known for its cookie bar and Californian cuisine, plus some incredible views of the water if you sit on the porch on a nice day.

And if you haven’t stopped by the restaurant yet, we’ve got some great reasons for you to visit in October! First, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Summer House on the Lake will donate $1 from every glass of Summer House Rosé sold to benefit the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida.

Also, the Cookie Bar will be home to some spectacularly spooky treats in October, including Pumpkin-Shaped Sugar Cookies, a “Count Chocula” crispy treat, festive sprinkle cookies, and candy corn. These will arrive on Thursday, October 17th, and last through Thursday, October 31st.

And for those celebrating Sober October, Summer House on the Lake will be highlighting its mocktail selection. The zero-proof cocktails currently on the menu include the Waitlist (sparkling rose lemonade, elderflower, lemon), Pineapple Kick (pineapple, orange, habanero honey), and Strawberry Fields (strawberry, sage, lavender).

So for those traveling to Disney Springs in the new month, it’ll be a great time to try out this restaurant if you haven’t been before! We enjoyed our meal there when it opened and thought the quality of the food was great, but keep in mind that it’s not the cheapest spot out there.

Want to know about other new dining spots you can try? Disney Springs also welcomed the Indian fast-casual restaurant eet by Maneet Chauhan last year. Over at Disney’s BoardWalk, there’s a new corn dog stand — Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs — and we’re awaiting the opening of The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers (hopefully soon!).

  1. My wife and I visited in June. Restaurant is beautiful and the view from outdoor seating is wonderful. The food is just OK. We would go back but not a can’t miss on every trip.
