We Don’t Want To Admit It, But We Think Every Reporter On Our Team Needs This ONE Disney World Essential

We have reporters in the Disney World parks every single day — that’s how we’re able to bring you all the news we do!

A rainy day in Magic Kingdom

They’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, of course, but our incredible reporters also try all the newest snacks firsthand, find stories in hidden details and exceptional Cast Members, and so much more. However, this also means they’re in the parks in all different kinds of weather — scorching hot, chilly, hurricane-level winds, you name it (unless it’s unsafe, of course). We talk about a lot of different essentials we use in the parks day in and day out, and we’ll be honest — we tried these out and thought we’d HATE them…we were wrong.

It rains a lot in Disney World, especially during this time of the year, and we’d seen these Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers online and thought they were pretty silly if we’re being honest. We didn’t think there was any way they were going to work. So naturally, we ordered them.

They do come in 7 different colors if you’re interested in them looking a little more discrete. We had two different reporters try them out, both with different-sized feet, and they both agreed that if you’re typically a half size, we suggest sizing up to ensure the zipper can close all the way and you won’t be uncomfortable.

Here’s what they look like flat

But how did they WORK? Did they actually keep out the rain like they were supposed to? We tried them out in a complete and utter downpour and were incredibly impressed. We even jumped in puddles to put them to the test, and they kept us nice and dry! They’re not totally foolproof, of course — when we were walking against the rain, we could feel the droplets falling down our leg and slip through the seal a bit, but there’s nothing that can be done to stop that.

They got the job done!

If you’re not someone who wears sneakers to the parks and prefers open-toed shoes that can get wet and dry with no issues, then these aren’t a necessity. But if you prefer the comfort of tennis shoes and don’t want them being potentially wet and musty/smelly when you go to head home, these very well may be a must!
