Now that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Musical Jamboree have both opened in Magic Kingdom, Frontierland is looking a little more lively once again!

However, there are still closures going on in Magic Kingdom and a relatively new one in Frontierland. A ride, a beloved arcade, and a restaurant all remain closed in Magic Kingdom the week of July 21st through July 28th! Plus, EPCOT, a hotel, and a water park are all experiencing closures this week, too.
Magic Kingdom
Peter Pan’s Flight
Peter Pan’s Flight will be closing on July 8th for an extended refurbishment.

The ride will be closed until August 21st, however Disney has not made an official announcement sharing details of what will be getting worked on. The ride is usually a very popular choice for guests, but it will be unavailable for over a month.

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade
The opening day attraction, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, officially closed on June 23rd.

This closure is to make room for a new DVC lounge that will soon be coming to Frontierland. This will be the third DVC lounge in Disney World, but we don’t have an opening date, yet.
Tomorrowland Terrace
Tomorrowland Terrace is a restaurant in Magic Kingdom that has usually only been open occasionally, generally during particularly busy seasons. However, it’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen this spot open at all.

Currently, it’s only used for Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert parties, and there’s no word on when it might serve food again.

EPCOT
Test Track
Test Track closed on June 17th and we don’t have any information about its reopening date or timeline yet. The ride is being reimagined! Besides some concept art, we don’t know much about what this update will entail.

We know that the ride will continue to be a partnership with Chevrolet and that they will be taking some inspiration from the original ride World of Motion.
Restaurant Marrakesh
Restaurant Marrakesh in the Morocco pavilion of World Showcase is closed. The restaurant was previously used as an Annual Passholder lounge during the V.I.Passholder Days, but it has closed once again.

We’re still waiting for the full dining experience to return to this restaurant.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid as we know it will NOT return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s closed now, and Disney has confirmed that this show has permanently closed to make way for an updated version.

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”, an all-new stage show, will replace the show in the Animation Courtyard theater in Fall 2024.

If you’re staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort soon, you’ll need to know about this update!

The World Premiere Food Court is undergoing refurbishment through July 31st. The restaurant isn’t totally closed though! You can still use mobile order to choose food items off a limited menu while it is getting a face-lift.

Blizzard Beach
Typhoon Lagoon was closed for several months but finally opened on March 17th, 2024! Woo hoo!

However, on that same day (March 17th) Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishments. Since it just closed, we do not know when it will reopen again, but since 2020 we’ve noticed that the two water parks generally flip-flop being open.

That means that, even though it’s currently summertime and thus peak water park season, we may only have one option of water parks to go to. We’ll be watching for news of Blizzard Beach reopening, but for now, just head over to Typhoon Lagoon!
