5 CHANGES Happening in August in Disney World

Disney World is always changing. Just this year, we’ve seen dozens of new and reimagined attractions come to life, from Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom to Rock ‘n’ Roller Starring The Muppets in Hollywood Studios.

Halloween is over!

But Disney still has even more up their sleeve, because five major changes are hitting the Disney World theme parks in August!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

This year’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will run from August 7th through October 31st. At the party, you can grab party-exclusive treats, merch, and character meet-and-greets, plus some free Halloween candy and spooky live entertainment.

Disney announced that two new shows will be added to the Halloween Party this year. In A Masquerade with Stitch, Stitch will appear with Lilo and Angel at the Rockettower Stage in Tomorrowland, where he’s hosting a masquerade. After getting his paws on Lilo’s costume trunk, Stitch is going to be changing costumes throughout the evening for some unpredictable fun!

See Spirited Swashbucklers, another new show, is coming to Adventureland exclusively during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Captain Jack Sparrow has dropped anchor to lead a swashbuckling series of pirate antics! Disney hasn’t announced a location, but it will likely be at the Adventureland stage, where the former Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band performed.

Fall decor

Starting in August, Magic Kingdom will start to be decorated for fall. Main Street, U.S.A. will be covered in fall garlands, autumn wreaths, and Mickey jack-o’-lanterns.

It’s the only Disney World park decorated for autumn, so make sure to check it out if you want fall vibes!

Fall merch

Disney typically releases a ton of fall and Halloween-themed merch in August. We’ve already seen some t-shirts rolled out early in The Emporium, but since Disney goes all out, there will 100% be tons more releasing in August!

Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle as The Sanderson Sisters is a must-have!

2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

The annual EPCOT Food & Wine Festival runs from August 27th to November 21st. This will bring limited-time festival booths where you can sample from a variety of booths offering up eats and drinks from countries around the world.

And to end your Food & Wine day, you can catch the Eat to the Beat concert series! We saw some awesome performances by Smash Mouth, Hanson, and The Beach Boys with John Stamos last year. Disney already released the lineup for 2026!
