The anticipation for spooky season is real because tickets for this Halloween event just went up today and dates have ALREADY sold out!
We’ve just started putting out our beach towels and pool chairs, but Halloween is already in the air as Disney has just released tickets for their seasonal event, Oogie Boogie Bash. Not even 24 hours and tickets for select dates have already sold out! So if you were planning to head to the event on these dates and haven’t purchased tickets yet, you may want to reschedule.
Ooogie Boogie Bash is a special seasonal event held at Disney California Adventure and it is every Halloween lover’s dream. The event, similar to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party over at Disney World, features exclusive shows, character meet and greets, special ride overlays, and a Halloween parade. There are also Trick-or-Treating stations sprinkled throughout the park where guests can head over to collect candy, along with specialty food and merchandise designed for the event.
Disney characters walk around the parks during the event, wearing their best spooky attire, and guests are also encouraged to wear costumes as they partake in the festivities. The event will run on select nights in August, September, and October, on the following dates:
- August: 25, 27, 29
- September: 3, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29
- October: 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29, 31
And ticket prices range from $134 – $189.
Tickets were made available today, June 25th, for Inspire Magic Key holders, and the process to purchase was not for the faint of heart. While trying to acquire tickets for the event, we were first put into a queue which kinda felt like a final countdown of sorts. Once we were next in line however things got a little… strange.
Right off the bat, we quickly chose tickets for the event’s opening night, August 25th, but once we were trying to check out, we received a message that tickets were no longer available. And honestly, this was when our hearts started pounding (which is kinda perfect for the spooky vibes, honestly).
Although we wanted to score tickets for opening night, we were able to purchase tickets for August 27th (woo!). We then decided to experiment a little and try out different dates. In doing this, we realized that dates that were shown as being sold out initially (like October 13th, for example) were available once again with a simple refresh.
Meanwhile, August 25th, the date we originally wanted that was shown as being available on the ticket calendar, was indeed all sold out. A little wonky, yes, but helpful to know. The big lesson here is, if there’s a specific date you want to attend but it is showing up as being ‘sold out’ on the calendar, try refreshing the page and you might be lucky with extra availability now having been added.
The dates that are currently completely sold out are:
- August 25th
- September 26th
- October 31st

Is there a limit on the number of tickets you can purchase as a Magic Key holder? My family and I would like to attend two separate dates, we love Halloween! Is it possible to select two different days to attend in the same transaction?
Hi Andy! There is a limit of 8 tickets per guest, per event date. You can purchase more than one night in the same transaction.
