The ONE Thing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World Is MISSING

Star Wars fans can literally spend a WHOLE DAY in Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and yes, GUILTY.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

For many of us, it’s the only reason we visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s the only place in the world where we can visit a planet in a galaxy far, far away, listen to tunes mixed by a droid DJ while having an out-of-this-world drink, and get a chance to work with the Resistance to escape the First Order, as well as fly the Millennium Falcon (the Millennium Falcon, y’all!). Although we feel like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is near-perfect (save for the fact there’s no cantina band inside the cantina), we think something could be added to make it next level.

So what would that one thing be? A sit-down table service restaurant. You see, while there are quick service dining options in Galaxy’s Edge, there isn’t a single option for table service.

In Galaxy’s Edge, you only have two options for meals and they’re both quick service. You’ve got Ronto Roasters, which specializes in what is essentially a sausage dog. Then there’s Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, which serves up space-inspired food that is mostly just okay. That’s it.

Ronto Roasters

Considering Disney initially promised a Star Wars dining experience for Galaxy’s Edge, the fact that it never happened is a travesty.

Okay, we lie — because this experience, a dinner show, did actually happen…on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience, which has since closed. On The Galactic Starcruiser, we got dinner, a show with a Twi’lek singer (and original concept art for Galaxy’s Edge featured a dinner club owned by a Twi’lek performer), and some really cool space-themed food.

Dinner entertainment on the Galactic Starcruiser

So Disney decided to use that concept for the now-defunct Galactic Starcruiser. You know what that means? It means that Disney already knows how to pull off such an experience. Now that the Galactic Starcruiser building is just SITTING there near Galaxy’s Edge, why not make it a dining experience, complete with a shuttle to and from the Starcruiser (just like when the Starcruiser made a day trip to Batuu)?

It could even be an interactive experience with characters roaming around, sort of like what we got to see with the Galactic Starcruiser. There are so many possibilities here because it’s already been done. Disney doesn’t even have to figure out how to make it work.

So, Disney, if you’re paying attention: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge needs this kind of dining experience. Folks would throw money at such a thing (well, as long as it’s not priced like the Galactic Starcruiser was) — trust us!

  1. So, a few days ago it was reported that some sort of construction permit has been filed at the site of the former Galactic Starcruiser. I don’t think Disney is completely finished with the idea of some sort of Star Wars entertainment. Maybe we can finally get that dinner show we were promised. They could just repurpose the dinner show they already created for the Halcyon as the kitchen, dining room, and stages have already been built!

  2. I think this would be AMAZING!! Another amazing idea would be where all of our favorite Star Wars characters were taking us on an intergalactic trip. We explore different planets, meet different characters, and maybe even the First Order finds our Star Cruiser.
