We have a HUGE update on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a.k.a. the Star Wars hotel.

While the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of the newest Disney World hotels, it seems as though things may be changing.
According to a statement from a Walt Disney World spokesperson, Disney will be closing the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

In a statement from a Walt Disney World spokesperson, Disney explained,
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”
The final voyages will take place from September 28th to September 30th, 2023. At this time, new bookings are paused.

Disney will contact guests with Starcruiser hotel reservations from September 30th through the end of 2023 to provide an update. Additionally, bookings will reopen on May 26th for voyages between now and the reported closure date.

For a little background, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opened on March 1st, 2022. The hotel was unlike any other Disney World hotel; the Starcruiser was designed to be a two-night, completely-immersive “cruise” adventure where guests were fully transported into the world of Star Wars.

Disney’s fully-immersive experience came at a price — a voyage on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser started at $4,809 for a party of two for a 2-night stay. Since opening, we’ve seen major discounts and reduced availability, possibly due to softening demand.

Disney has not shared any further details at this time. This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more details.

Price gouging comes to mind!
Maybe before a total closure they should have modified the experience and price to a reasonable rate. the cost to create this experience at this point was a total loss. Maybe many of us did not like the food choices and that would help with the cost.
Cool idea. Just badly executed, and way too expensive.
In other words, the novelty has worn off and people were not willing to spend that much. No real surprise here. The folks that experienced this will have experienced something no one else has or likely will.
Considering the price, not at all surprised it’s closing. Way too expensive.
Great idea that was far too expensively priced.
