SNEAK PEEK at How Disney World Will Transport Star Wars Hotel Guests to Galaxy’s Edge

Are you ready to see just how immersive the new Star Wars hotel will be?

We’re less than a month away from the opening of the highly anticipated Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (aka the Star Wars hotel), and today we spotted some aerial footage of the hotel, plus a glimpse into how exactly guests will be transported from the hotel to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Are you ready to check it out?

Thanks to @bioreconstruct on Twitter, we are able to see aerial photos of the Galactic Starcruiser! Here is a photo of the hotel, with an arrow at the transport “shuttle” that will take guests from the hotel to Batuu, also known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios. Want to get a closer look?

During a 2-night stay at the Galactic Starcruiser, guests will be transported directly to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for part of the visit. And from the looks of it, even the transportation will be immersive! It appears that guests will board a transport shuttle that looks like this, which resembles a kind of box truck. There are shuttle doors on either side, and it looks like there are no passenger windows.

If you look at the yellow arrow provided by @bioreconstruct, this is where the shuttle will “dock” at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to drop off guests.

As you can see, the connected docking area is linked by an octagon space and a long hallway, which both appear to be open-air and covered in various canopies.

And if you zoom out, here’s what it will look like for guests visiting Batuu! The yellow arrow points to where guests will be dropped off, straight into the docking area so that they can stay fully immersed in the world of Star Wars.

And we’ve already seen the area where it is believed that guests will enter Hollywood Studios, which is currently visible in Galaxy’s Edge if you want to check it out before the hotel opens.

  1. “which resembles a kind of box truck”? It IS a box truck, basically a bus without windows. They should have built some types of ride like vehicle system on a track to take you there. Nothing they’ve released about this seems worth the high price for it.

    1. Scott – That is what I said. And I would not pay to be entombed in what is basically an enclosed cruise ship with no windows for 2 days and then take a ride in a box truck! At least on a cruise ship you get plenty of fresh air.
