We’ve been following the Brightline train news for a long time now!

The company is working on getting a near-high-speed rail line from Miami all the way to the Gulf Coast, and we’ve recently seen some new additions — like a station at the Orlando International Airport. But where could the next train station go? Well, we’ve got some news on that front!

Brightline has recently launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new station planned for the Treasure Coast of Florida. This is the area bordering the Atlantic Ocean that includes Indian River, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties.

“We’re excited to begin the process of identifying a station location in the Treasure Coast and have seen tremendous support from the local community,” said Brightline Chief Executive Officer Michael Reininger. “Expanding Brightline into the Treasure Coast region will make Brightline one of the most accessible forms of transportation in Florida, giving access to nearly half of the state’s residents.”

Currently, Brightline operates stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. The Orlando station opened in late September 2023.

Proposal meetings for the Treasure Coast station will take place on November 28th and 29th, with a final proposal deadline of December 22nd, 2023. We’ll be on the lookout for any more news before then.
