Some Disney World hotels are known for being iconic, and then there are the resorts that have been flying under the radar for longer than you probably realize.
Sure, the Polynesian Village Resort is tropical and luxurious, and Art of Animation has kid-friendly theming and family-oriented rooms, but we’re not here to talk about those. There are plenty of Disney World hotels that you’ve probably never stayed at, but this is one you totally should.
Let us introduce you to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. And if you’re familiar with it, then allow us to reintroduce you. Coronado Springs is a Moderate Resort that boasts 1,917 rooms and suites located in three villages around a 15-acre lake. It’s an absolutely massive resort and features a ton of things to do!
The nearby Gran Destino Tower holds another 545 rooms, but the Gran Destino Tower rooms typically cost a little extra money. The resort is known for its American Southwest and Northern Mexican theming, with inspiration taken from Salvador DalÃ’s work throughout Gran Destino Tower.
Even though this is a Moderate Resort, we can’t help but feel like we’re at a Deluxe Resort when we’re here. The theming is beautiful, as are the hotel grounds, and we never find ourselves running out of things to do here. The atmosphere is top-notch, and although it’s not over-the-top Disney-themed, it’s still one of our favorite hotels on property.
And, we have to talk about the price. Since it’s a Moderate Resort, the prices aren’t quite as high as what you might expect — even with the deluxe vibes. A standard view room typically costs between $198-$343 per night, with those prices increasing along with more amenities — like staying in the Gran Destino Tower, for instance.
If you’re looking to make a splash on your vacation, Coronado might be perfect. The Dig Site is the main pool area at Coronado Springs and features a 272,000+ gallon pool, the Siesta’s pool bar, a volleyball court, the largest outdoor hot tub on Disney property, the Explorer’s Playground, and the Iguana Arcade. Oh, and did we mention the Jaguar Water Slide?! There’s enough fun for parents and kids alike at this resort!
We also have to mention the dining options available at this hotel, too! These restaurants are just as underrated as the hotel itself. Toledo — Tapas, Steak, & Seafood Is located on the top floor of Gran Destino and serves Spanish-inspired dishes and drinks.
You’ve also got Three Bridges, which is one of the most unique dining locations in Disney World since it’s smack dab in the middle of a lake! Some hotels feature killer ambiance but the food options can be lacking — that definitely isn’t the case at Coronado Springs. Consider booking it for your next Disney World trip!
