Disney’s celebrating Halfway to the Holidays, and that means we’re getting a lot of announcements!

From limited-time treats in the parks to news about celebrations coming to Disneyland Resort, it’s a busy week, festivity-wise. And now, we’ve got the details about what to expect for the holiday SEAson!
Why did we capitalize “sea?” Well, because we’ve got news for Disney Cruise Line! For the Very Merrytime Cruises that Disney hosts, you can expect some new entertainment, new character costumes, and lots of fun activities when you set sail.

One of the highlights is the new Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will take place on the first night of all Very Merrytime sailings. According to Disney, “Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy will invite your family to sing along to classic holiday tunes, followed by a countdown that will not only make the tree merry and bright but also introduce the guests of honor for the cruise (Santa!? I know him!).”

The second new entertainment offering onboard will be Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party. It’s a “one-of-a-kind celebration” with a high-energy deck party thrown by Mickey and Minnie. It will have a mix of classic and original holiday songs, and you’ll get to see some of Mickey and Minnie’s friends during the show!

In addition to the entertainment, you’ll spot festive holiday and Christmas decor spread throughout the ship during Very Merrytime sailings. And some of the characters you meet will be donning new seasonal looks this year!

You can also listen to carolers, shop holiday merchandise, and enjoy limited-time seasonal snacks onboard. It sounds like it’s going to be a holly jolly good time!

Not cruising in 2023? No worries! Disney has confirmed that there will be holiday merriment on their cruises in 2024 too! It’ll be available from mid-November through December 2024 from 2 ports in Florida and a few cruises from Galveston, Texas.
And in exciting news, in 2024 select voyages on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will include a stop at Disney Cruise Line’s NEW port — Lighthouse Point — during the holiday season!

That’s all the holiday news for Disney Cruise Line for now, but we’ll be on the lookout for more festive updates. Stay tuned for the latest news!
