Disney Confirms Ride TRANSFORMATION for the Holiday Season

Put on those Santa hats and break out the cookies and milk — it’s time to celebrate the holiday season (a little early)!

Disney previously announced special treats that would arrive in 2023 for the #HalfwayToTheHolidays celebration and we’ve shared details about Christmas Crocs to really get you into the mood. But now Disney has confirmed that a classic Disney ride will be TRANSFORMED this holiday season once again!

Over at Disneyland Resort, “it’s a small world” typically transforms each year from its regular form to a more festive holiday version called “it’s a small world” Holiday. Disney has now confirmed that “it’s a small world” Holiday will return to Disneyland Park this holiday season!

In its holiday version, the ride receives a number of holiday touches in terms of decor and more.

The costumed kiddos on the ride still sing the classic “It’s a Small World (After All”) song, along with traditional holiday tunes to really take things up a notch!

Thus far, the Disneyland website only notes that the holiday overlay will return for “fall 2023,” but does not specify on what date it’ll return. Typically, what we’ve seen is that the traditional “it’s a small world” ride will close starting around the end of October while the transformation takes place and then reopen (usually in early to mid-November) with its festive look. We’ll keep an eye out for updates as to when the ride will close and reopen later this year.
