Construction Shuts Down Concierge Lounge at Disney World Hotel

Something at Disney World is ALWAYS under construction.

BoardWalk Inn

New restaurants are being built, EPCOT is in the middle of a HUGE transformation, and some hotels are even getting updated, which means that some services might not be available to guests. If you happen to be staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, one of those services has officially closed.

BoardWalk Inn and the surrounding area have been undergoing a bit of construction lately. Not only has a new dining spot and coffee shop opened up, but the rooms are getting updated, and there’s another restaurant/bakery coming to the area. Even BoardWalk Inn’s lobby is getting refurbished. Because of all that construction, though the hotel’s Concierge Lounge has temporarily closed.

Inkeeper’s Club Lounge

The concierge lounge is only available to guests who book concierge rooms at a hotel. These are rooms located on a private floor of the hotel that generally have their own keyed access. Each concierge club offers a special lounge where guests can grab coffee and a continental breakfast in the morning, as well as snacks around lunch, appetizers and wine before dinner, and dessert and cordials for early evening.

Concierge Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Most of Disney’s deluxe hotels have concierge rooms with a lounge. The concierge lounge at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn also provides a nightly view of EPCOT’s nighttime show, Harmonious. These rooms can be pricey, though, and can cost $200 MORE than a standard room. The extra food and drinks might be worth it, though.

However, guests wishing to stay at the BoardWalk in concierge rooms may want to re-think their stay while the Concierge Lounge is closed. Disney has not yet announced a reopening date, but we’ll keep an eye on the situation and let you know when the lounge is available for guests again.

  1. We have plans to be there the end of April & were counting on the convenience of grabbing snacks there.

  2. There are times of the year when concierge level is worth the money. But I avoid it during Food & Wine especially because there is so much food available elsewhere. It is a luxury to be able to get food just outside your room, and snacks and drinks most of the day.
