When We'll Know MORE About The Walt Disney Company's Future

After a tumultuous year, we will soon learn more about what the future holds for the Walt Disney Company.

The first quarter earnings call will be taking place on February 8th, when Disney will report its most recent numbers and more to investors. But, another critical meeting is on the horizon at Disney — the annual shareholders meeting — and now we know exactly when it will take place.

In case you missed it, activist investor Nelson Peltz is criticizing the board of The Walt Disney Company, and asking shareholders to give him a seat on the board. Disney is urging stockholders to vote for its slate of directors instead, and oppose Peltz’s request.

It’s all scheduled to come to a head at the 2023 annual shareholders meeting, which we now know will be held virtually on April 3rd at 10AM PT (1PM ET). The meeting will be live streamed at www.virtualshareholdermeeting.com/DIS2023.

A recent SEC filing from Disney shows the company sent several updates to shareholders about the proxy vote, including how the company feels about Peltz, when the meeting would take place, and when shareholder votes are due — April 2nd at 11:59PM ET.

This vote is important to Disney, as is urged in the letter to shareholders requesting votes regardless of whether or not they attend the meeting. It looks like there could be big news coming out of this meeting on April 3rd regarding the battle for Disney’s board.

Not only that, but Disney has shared important updates about upcoming projects at shareholder meetings in the past — along with questions from investors — so it’s quite possible we will learn even more exciting details about the future of Disney soon.
