We’ve seen tons of new content premiere on Disney+, new films make their debut, and lots of price increases in the parks. With all that in mind, we tuned in for the fourth quarter earnings call that took place today for the Company.

Each year, Disney holds an earnings call for each of the four quarters to assess how the company is performing financially. These give an insight into how the company is running across all fields, including streaming, theme parks, and more. Run by Disney CEO Bob Chapek, there have also been instances where we’ve gotten some big news from the earnings call, whether that’s how Genie+ is performing or the latest subscriber numbers for Disney+.

During today’s call, we got a first look at how the Company has been performing over the last quarter. Disney shared that revenues for the quarter grew 9%, while revenues for the year grew 23%. Disney reported $21.3 billion in revenue for this quarter 2022 — down from Q3 but up from the same time last year.

What a sight to see!

Disney+ saw 12.1 million total new or returning subscriptions, and they currently have 164.2 million subscribers, which includes both its national and international numbers. When compared to this time last year, Disney+ recorded 118.1 million subscribers, which is a 39% growth year-over-year.

This isn’t too surprising, as we’ve seen some incredible content come from Disney+ since it first launched — like The Mandalorian, She-Hulk, and Hocus Pocus 2 to name a few.

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products revenues for the quarter increased to $7.4 billion, compared to $5.5 billion in same quarter for 2021 — a 26% increase. Chapek commented that demand in the Disney parks often exceeds capacity, with new attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind driving that demand.
